When Gordon McKensie visits schools demonstrating his metal sculptures, he asks: How many artists are there in the room? He reports that first graders will all enthusiastically raise their hands. However, only about half of the second graders raise their hands and by sixth grade only one or two. The message: because of peer intimidation, the gift of possibility is removed suppressing true talent.
